I thought the main issue was that the director/star Nate Parker was accused of raping a woman who committed suicide because he was able to avoid incarceration for his alleged crimes. The reality is that just getting accused is enough today — you don’t have to commit sexual assault to be part of “rape culture” you just have to be a man. Nate Parker’s career is over — over before it began. It is a sad state of affairs — but it is the reality of our nation today. A nation that will elect Hillary Clinton despite her attacks on victims of rape — 12 year olds to 22 year olds.
