Two thoughts.

First, Urban-Brookings is non-partisan? I guess you could say they are non-partisan because they can’t vote — but they’re firmly on the left. They’re funded by the Ford Foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Rockefeller Foundation — all very liberal organizations.

Second, Big boon? Seriously? High-income families can avoid the tax on up to $2,000 in a savings account? So we’re talking $600 a year? Man, this is seriously going to help us…

I wish I could get the EITC — $2,400 (presumably those who already get the EITC and have children will get double from my reading).

This is aimed squarely at middle-class and low-income workers.
