Eating the same foods and flavors can be so boring and discouraging not matter what diet you are on or if you are any diet at all. When I get tired of the same stuff, it’s time to make something up. I’m usually on the go, so my inventions must be fast and tasty. Several weeks ago, there was nothing to eat except ground beef and a few veggies. No one wanted another hamburger patty with cheese. They’re good, but they get so boring.

My friend had recently found organic Tandoori Masala seasoning

. So, we decided to toss them the beef, veggies and masala seasoning in a skillet and make a quick stir-fry? We put it all together with a few spices and were blown away by the dish so much that we’ve made it several times since. It is too good not to share, so here we go! The ingredients, seasonings and instructions are below.

Masala Beef Stir-Fry Ingredients

As I mentioned before, the ingredients are quite simple. Fortunately, all the vegetables are interchangeable with others, so you aren’t stuck to this exact recipe.

  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20
  • 4 ounces Italian sausage
  • 2–3 ounces chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 10 ounces diced zucchini
  • 3–4 ounces Crimini mushroom
  • 2 ounces chopped bell pepper, any color

Seasonings!

Seasoning is what takes food from acceptable to exceptional. This dish would be boring and quite frankly, not tasty at all, were it not for the seasonings. every cook needs a good collection of seasonings, so here are a few in the dish to be sure to have on hand.

  • 3 Tablespoons Tandoori Masala Seasoning
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional Seasonings
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon Tabasco Sauce

It sounds like a lot, but you can season to taste, and if you don’t care for spicy food, leave out the red pepper, cayenne and tabasco.

Mix everything in a skillet or wok at the same time, and gently stir it until the vegetables soften. When you’re finished, you can serve it as is, put it in a low-carb wrap or pita. For a more enticing presentation, you can serve it on a beautiful bed of butter lettuce, or better yet, make lettuce wraps. There are so many options with this stir-fry’s consistency, texture and taste of that give you tons of freedom to experiment and modify it to your tastes.
