“Somehow, I managed to avoid you during the pandemic, but I must say, I’m surprised that you still arrived at my doorstep.”

“It’s been twenty years since the pandemic, if you asked me, I arrived at your doorstep just in time.”

“My children, what about my children?”

“They will be fine, your husband will live for another ten years, nothing to worry about.”

“My followers, what about my followers?”

“Oh, the ones on your various social media platforms, well, they will just find some other random creator to obsessively follow, the world will go on, I’m sure.”

“What about my family, my sister, my mother, my father?”

“You forget your mother and father are waiting for you. Your sister will have your daughter to admire through your legacy.”

“And what about my husband and all those I have loved a long side and before him?”

“That’s a shame because all of the others have no memory of your name, but your husband, he remembers the moment you met and the moment he decided he couldn’t live without you.”

“You are so cruel.”

“No, I am not, I reflect your life, and the afterlife that awaits you. My cruelty is only a perception of your wasted affection and time. I am the final answer that you must accept.”

“I don’t want to! Leave me alone!”

“I can’t leave you alone for I am the only company that you will know for the rest of the way. I don’t mean to frighten you, but this is the only way. I wish to relieve you of your suffering.”

“Fine, I'll go. I suppose I must grow in the afterlife to enjoy your company.”

“I suppose so.”
