Is it weird the fans rewrite or produce different versions of shows and movies in their own way? Does that help or hinder the original producers of the show or movie? Do you think it is okay for them to make money off of someone else’s idea? Do you think communities of fans deserved the stigma attached to the word “fandom”?

This topic is really relatable to this past week’s topics of fan interaction. Here these fans are acting as prosumers, which means that yes they are consuming media but at the same time they are producing more media by being inspired by other media out there. I think it is great that fans are creating spin offs to the original shows!
