A new age of tuition and coaching
“How do I know if my child is where they should be?” “I thought my child was on track but I’ve now been told they are behind — help!” “How can I gain some control of my child’s education?” These are questions I have heard many times before. Being a tutor and school teacher for many years, I have met so many wonderful children, young adults and parents, all of whom had one thing in common — the desire to learn and succeed, often combined with increasing feelings of confusion, bewilderment and panic towards an ever-demanding education system. I began to realise that, not only do young learners need the support, teaching and encouragement that a good tutor brings but, in this increasingly demanding and confusing educational climate, they and their parents need supportive coaching and guidance.
I am so excited and proud to finally launch Shining Stars Tuition Online as a inclusive package of personalised online tuition and coaching that will provide that much needed guidance and support to young learners and parents across the country.
The overriding value is simple — your child and their success is my priority. There are many ingredients that lead to their success, which need to be understood, balanced and managed. Whether your child is in KS2 or working towards their GCSE exams, the first task is to understand their achievements and knowledge so far. Of equal importance, is to understand their interest, passions and dreams. Knowing this is our launch pad for your child’s journey to success!
Shining Stars will provide you with a clear picture of where your child’s learning currently stands, in relation to their age related expectations. You will be given clear targets — short term, manageable learning objectives and long term goals. You will be provided with weekly online tutorials in a format that suits your child, together with personalised activities to reinforce that session’s learning. As a parent, you will be provided with a guide for that topic, ensuring that you stay well informed about the latest methods of teaching.
This package revolves around a 6-weekly cycle, beginning and ending with informal assessments of your child’s learning, together with a written review and new, agreed goals.
Another vital element to any learner’s success is communication and this is a key part of the Shining Stars package. Within your child’s online classroom, there are private forum pages, where you or your child can fire questions at me, whenever you need to. I am there to guide you and your child.
