‘Feelings’ flow cohesively, in sequential order, almost as if we are reading about the relationship by chapters. It begins in the honeymoon phase with, “Embers in the Breeze’’. Ray shows his devotion to the one he is infatuated with through lines like, “When sad songs don’t soothe you/and love songs don’t move you/let me hold you, and help you hold on.”. His words are poetic, demonstrating the lengths he would go to make his personal content. In this song, the relationship is one-sided as he attempts to woo the person he desires. The EP continues with the song, “Kiss Me Again”, where a connection is made between the two people. Ray describes the passionate night through the lyrics, “I taste an angel’s love/How could this be a sin? /Eyes closed, I’m leaning in/Kiss me again.”. Ray understands that this moment will not last forever, but he would like to savor the seconds of passion for as long as possible. The album ends with the song, “Not Your Baby”, a description of the person he loves, moving on, to someone new. Ray Palousek described his jealousy during this moment. Through the lines, “…I hope he leaves you grieving’ the bleedin’ pieces of your broken heart.”, Ray hopes his lost love will someday feel as broken as he does.

The instrumentals used in this album consist of features consistent with pop music, like guitar and drums. With the addition of mixing and a keyboard, Ray has truly found an original sound. He is well set apart from other pop artists. The love, lust, and eventual heartbreak that is displayed through Ray Palousek’s EP, ‘Feelings’ is so personal. Yet the songs can be relatable to a multitude of audiences, making this album a hit.
