Bucharest, February 5th
The sky hides behind a thick veil of rainy, grey clouds. With so much water above their heads and under their feet, the passersby ignore the two dogs fighting over a bone. Nobody stops to wonder: where did two stray dogs appear from in the middle of Bucharest?
The bouncer from Paul keeps staring out the window, ignoring the cellphone he usually stares into. Not even he can escape the rain. A cleaning lady at the Hilton ventures on their first floor open-air terrace to clean up the cigarette buds. She’s not thinking hard about how addictive smoking is, she’s rather nonplussed that people brave the rain and cold to smoke. She looks up and for a moment it looks like she might spot a break in the clouds. Alas, she’s not wearing her prescription glasses.
