Google and Facebook are against progress
The world of cryptocurrencies is now discussing the decision of Google to ban advertising ICOs.
Earlier I shared with you my assumptions on why Facebook and Google had forbidden advertising ICOs. The official representatives of the companies say that these measures are caused by the fact that among the projects launching ICOs there are a lot of scams and they represent a threat for investors.
But is this really the only reason?
Two days ago one of the founders of the World Wide Web sir Timothy John Berners-Lee published an open letter in which he criticized Facebook and Google, accusing them of monopolising the network and killing competition. The monopoly of these companies is dangerous also because their policy is dictated by laws of the states under whose jurisdiction they are.
Let`s take, for example, the ban on ICO ads — Facebook took this decision after the warnings of the FBI, the fact that was revealed by Jayson Roy a few days ago.
It is clear why states and monopolies consider cryptocurrencies and blockchain dangerous. They wish to save the existing order of things and their positions.
It is impossible to disagree with sir Timothy John Berners-Lee in that the Internet now is under the influence of “conservative forces” which in a way are not interested in progress.
We still believe that the future belongs to the blockchain technology, and trouble it causes this sphere`s monopolists and states confirms that.
We also suppose the model of raising money via ICOs will shortly undergo serious changes or completely discredit itself because of unfair participants. But then other forms of investment and promotion of projects on blockchain will come.
