Today on 12th of November 2018 there is an ongoing discussion about some unidentified wallet losing over 22 000 XTZ as a result of double baking on their node. Let’s try to figure out who is behind this wallet.
Baker with account tz1SYq214SCBy9naR6cvycQsYcUGpBqQAE8d has received a single delegation from KT1F1EfPahaN35gi6aCYB93xV5W6HgVEiZuQ, who also funded this baker’s balance. This implies that both wallets have the same owner.
Let’s have a look at delegate’s address: it was created by account tz1hkzS6pnfnHv9KzX1nbtqXVqUkzcem8FJs. Also it is the main source of funds for the KT (see block 155436).

It was a moment of start trading Tezos on other exchange (Coinone) when the following situation has occurred:
There were a bunch of transactions of various sizes to different wallets (which is a fairly standard practice for exchanges), from where the funds are subsequently transferred to tz1PU4NAw1z6gCkErrSVosyWuqLFiJwnFW54. All this transactions have identical “Param” field and are most likely to be programmatically generated all at the same time.

Overall, there is not much doubt that this wallet belongs to Exchange. Something to think about for those who hold their coins on exchange wallets rather than delegate.

Find the address of the exchange can be much easier — we had to create an account on Coinone, transfer some tezzies on it and track the path. Having done this, we are 100% convinced that it is their node that suffers from double baking.
However, this situation proof that holding funds on the exchange ! = delegation.
