Why Quitting Your Job to Chase Your Dream Is a Terrible Idea
Jeff Goins

What do you mean by a “leap”? An uninformed jump into instability is not a great life move I agree, but there are so many degrees of leaps out there. I would argue that educated, scoped, and thought out transitions are invaluable to personal growth.

I quit a job in sales to go back to school for programming. That “leap” was absolutely a necessary part of my eventually becoming employed as a web developer…but it was a controlled leap, predicated on a ton of self teach and experimentation as well as support from all sides from friends and family.

Quitting your job to do something new is an incredible adventure. But as with everything, do it safely and think it fully through before execution.
