Brac Island is a popular tourist destination in Croatia. The island lies just off the coast from the major city of Split. Because most Croatian vacation tours end up visiting Split, it is rather easy to take a ferry to Brac Island for a day. And of course, the island is a very popular destination for people sailing yachts around the coast of Split. So if you decide to take a trip down to Brac here are some things you can do on the island.

See the ancient buildings

Brac Island is home to some beautiful, ancient landmarks. When people charter yachts in Croatia, they usually are not looking to see historical sites, and they are missing out on a lot of fun. Brac Island is home to a number of amazing historical sites. The most famous one is the monastery at Blaca, a 17th century monastery. But there are other sites you should see, such as the Zmajeva Spilja, a site famed for its intricate carvings. And if possible you should try and visit the old town of Skrip, the oldest town on the island. It requires a bit of travel to see these sites, but they all are well worth the trip.

Visit the beaches

Beaches are an essential part of vacation tours in Croatia, after all, what is the point of going to a costal country if you are not going to enjoy a day at the beach? Brac has some great beaches, with the local favourite being Zlatni Rat beach. However, there are also other beaches for you to explore, like Murvica beach, and Povlja beach.

See the island from the top of Vidova Gora

The mountain of Vidova Gora has the highest summit of any mountain, not only on the island of Brac but of any island in the Adriatic. The view from the top of Vidova Gora lets you see the whole island, and you can even see mainland Italy on a clear day. When you a charter a yacht in Croatia, you can expect to see a lot of beautiful sights, but seeing the island of Brac from the top of Vidova Gora may top them all.
