Glad someone finally shared this message. Nigerians are generally quick to point a finger saying “our government is corrupt”, “our president is useless” etc. acting as if they have no responsibility as citizens. I believe the right leader for Nigeria will be the one who reaffirms JFK’s “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country” to the people.

Considering how religious Nigerians are you’d think that they’d follow the maxim of “God only helps those who helps themselves” instead of looking for someone or something to blame or hinge their hopes and aspirations upon.

I feel that a large part of the Nigerian evasiveness of responsibility comes from zealousness in the superstitious; always seeing things as outside of their control/influence.
