In-person Drops
The concept of in-person drops is to build a quick rapport with your potential employers. It is another way of making sure that your resume and other documents have reached the right person. You can get to know more about the workplace, their day to day activities and what are their primary requirements for a candidate.
Still recovering from my previous experience of a failed in-person session, I was encouraged to try once more to drop my resume in person. Not giving up hope and not losing confidence, I decided to give a visit to the Interloop. It is one of the world’s largest hosiery manufacturers with Hosiery being its core business — has an annual Company turnover exceeding $250 million!

Although the company is situated on the outskirts of Faisalabad, and it took me about a hour to reach there, I was deeply overwhelmed by how the company treated me. Knowing the name of the HR Manager helped me in getting a quick access inside their offices.
The workplace seemed very frank and open. I could see great team work among them. I reached there during their lunch time, which was 11:30, so I had to wait a little for the HR to return. I had quite a good and an open discussion with Mr. Luqman, Interloop’s HR Manager. From everything about me to what the company looks for, what are their policies and how do they make sure to create an environment which is both positive and interactive.
All in all, it was a great experience to be there and one of the most important things that I had learned was to not just memorize your #elevatorpitch, rather being well prepared to ask open ended questions if given the chance to do so.
