Testing the Pomodoro Technique

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. I set myself to test out whether this technique will be useful or not.

So it goes like this, I’ve to start working on a task and set the timer to 25 minutes. When the timer tings, I’ll take a short 4–5 minutes break and then start working again.

Pomodoro denotes a sauce made from tomatoes.

Working online for this task meant there were a lot of distractions for me. From constantly getting Facebook notifications to me wanting to listen to a song. All I had to do was show some restraint.

I, then, turned off everything and eventually it got to work. This technique is a great way to creating a sense of urgency within you and helps you complete your tasks in advance. I plan to be applying this technique in the future when working on different things.
