Women Surpassed Men In Bachelor’s Degree Attainment In 1995 And They Haven’t Looked Back Since

This graph is crucial for a number of reasons. First of all, while it captures only educational attainment, one’s education is highly correlated with one’s earning power. The relationship isn’t perfect, but, in general, the higher your degree, the more money you can make and the more likely to you are to get and maintain a steady job. Second of all, the chart shows that most of Americans’ gains in educational attainment can be attributed to women. Third and finally, the chart shows that the gender gap is steady and significant, hinting that men aren’t poised to catch up to women any time soon.
