Pragmatic Book Club: Chapter 6
Dec 12, 2022
Sometime around October I had to take a break from leading the book club because my time got so extremely constrained that I could no longer squeeze it out. So from there the notes are a bit rougher and, as you will have noticed, greatly delayed. Nevertheless the book club kept going, and various people stepped up in my absence.
Let’s talk about chapter 6, Concurrency.
- Mutexes in JavaScript, how would they work, how could they work
- Where do we use concurrency?
- Where do we use parallelism ?
- We talked a lot about the event loop this week as it os how concurrency is dealt with in JavaScript. Someone suggested this talk by Philip Roberts as a good introduction.
