Pragmatic book club chapter 7

Chapter 7, while you are coding.
I don’t remember much about this chapter and I have no notes!
The main area for discussion in the first half was around refactoring because it’s a battle ground between our desire to ship things and our desire to built perfect things.
The metaphor about gardening as opposed to construction when thinking about code felt apt but I do wonder if perhaps there is no metaphor needed. Codebases, like gardens, like everything, tends towards entropy.
OK sorry, that’s literally all i’ve got. I think I was actually off sick for the second of our chapter 7 sessions, so if anyone else wants to fill in the blanks for me here please do.
