Is your own self-talk harming you?

Our mind is a reflection of what we have put in it.

Being a reflection of our life experiences, our choices, our decisions and our life conditioning of values and beliefs.

Ultimately only components of what we have experienced in our past.

Not many of us go backwards in life; yet a lot of our decisions to move forward are based on an element and reflection of our past.

Somebody has upset us and we re-enact it in our mind, over and over again.

We decide to have a confronting discussion with someone; and we role play it first in our mind, over and over again.

We have to make a decision on something we are unsure of and we will feed our own thoughts of doubt till we either back out of the situation or till we have enough determination to move forward.

We feel insecure at a party and we self-talk; reminding ourselves all night how uncomfortable we feel — unless something new grabs our attention or we just happen to unconsciously snap out of it.

Our mind (being enabled with our past of our fears, our worries and our insecurities) only contains a reflection of our negative moments. Our thoughts can stop us from going forward, and they can influence us repeating our past and what we have always done.

It is not all doom as our thoughts can also help us to avoid repeating an experience that we don’t want to repeat.

Why aren’t we educated more on the workings of the mind?

It is simply impersonal and yet we consult with our mind on what to do in most situations.
