Quotation methods for wedding photography

The quote is a very important part of the process, you can outline terms and conditions and agree everything so that there are no surprises. It allows you to confirm what the client would like and what exact services/products you will provide them.

The example quote below is for a florist, however the template is applicable to a photographer. It is good practise to have a letterhead, state who the client is, the wedding date and contact details. The next step is to quote the price for what they have requested, perhaps making seperate prices for their ease. Attach the terms after the quote, to cover you and the client. If they do no agree with something then negotiation can occur. Include business bank account details.

The next example is a photographers quote, the layout is similar. Keep it simple and user friendly. Only use the information needed, the worst thing you can do it confuse your client.

I have found a few more examples of pricing packages, this is the starting point for a quotation as each wedding is different but this way they roughly understand your prices. If they are too much then you won’t be hassled with people that can not afford your services as they have had enough info from your website to make a decision. That’s another point, your website needs to be simple but informative.

Another way to truly tailor your packages to clients needs is to use a request form, information is transferred quickly and prices can be quoted accurately.

My plan would be to have a package outline on my website and then state that prices are negotiable, then direct them to the wedding request form.
