Remember when Publix wouldn’t let it’s employees wear masks? In case you missed that, check HERE

Now, as of late April 2020, Publix released a line of facial masks with the signature green and Publix P logo. This move from Publix is a perfect example of our democracy’s capitalism. It’s also pretty disgusting. The masks are selling for $15.95 for a two-pack, or 10 masks for almost $70 but at least provide free masks to its workers. After a few visits to local Publix grocery stores, there hasn’t been a single sighting of a Publix employee wearing a Publix mask. So, the question here is, did the public get a chance to purchase these before they were handed to their own employees? There is no way of knowing as the sample of stores is currently only 13 stores, but there is a good indication that the public already has these masks in use.

Disgracefully the cost of a locally made mask is significantly less then the manufactured that make “no representations, express or implied, as to the efficacy of these masks against preventing the spread of any contagions.”

Not only that, but the face masks are also sold out and won’t be available until June. Publix's profits from the pandemic are already plentiful.
