Do you think the distinction between ‘those who write’ and ‘those who are written about’ comes down to language? Perhaps if those who are written about could be understood using the words they use, we might be in a better position to understand them directly, as opposed to being translated via journalists with biases.

May not be possible — but the best writers have always taken the language of everyone (including ‘deplorables’) and given it meaning.
