Alligator Attack in the Charles River (news story)
Charles River, Boston MA- Early Wednesday morning John Smith, a 37-year-old accountant and Boston resident, was swimming in the Charles River with his golden retriever, Hank. Smith often goes for a swim in the Charles river with Hank, so he thought very little when his dog jumped into the river and swam past Smith as he was swimming to shore.
It was not until he was out of the water he discovered there had been an alligator trailing behind him and realized that Hank had gone to fight off the threat.
Hank, at seven-years-old, attacked the 15 foot long alligator before it could have attacked hank’s beloved owner. The gator soon lost interest in Smith and left the victims. When Hank returned from his heroic fight he had a gash on his back leg which needed 17 stitches.
