How to winter-proof your photography
Put the focus on capturing great images and take the worry out of cold-weather photography by following a few simple tips
Photography shoots take a little more prep during the cold weather months, for both you and your gear. Follow a few simple tips, and you’ll make your photography experience much more comfortable and fun this season.
Dress for the weather
Before we get to your camera gear, make sure you’re ready for the weather conditions too. This one seems pretty obvious, right? Remember though, that when you’re shooting, you will probably spend a lot of time standing around, framing your shot and looking for that perfect angle. That means you’ll feel the cold so much more intensely than you would if you were moving around consistently.
Check the weather forecast ahead of your shoot, so you can be well prepared for the conditions.
Wear a good base and layer, layer layer. That way, it’s easy to adjust if you get too warm.
