Malta Summit was very successful. Over 5000 delegates and we came back with a stack of business cards the size of my head.
Thank you to Coinweb.io for helping us get there! Amazing team! Amazing project! Amazing vision!
Meeting the best of the best in the industry is an amazing opportunity. I am still at university, so to see lawyers from Switzerland, hedge fund managers from wall street and educational initiatives from Africa really makes you think about the people in this space.
“The greatest thing about blockchain is it let’s you be yourself. I really like you and I can show you the best way forward in this industry and be myself doing it” — Crypto Fund Manager
“I haven’t been this excited for something since the start of the internet” — Ex-Portfolio Manager
What did I learn?
- Community driven incentives are the most receptive
- “blockchain” is the equivalent key term to “dot-com”
- The Ukrainian blockchain scene is popping
What to expect in the future?
- Similar demand for blockchain in Asia
- Free cross border payments are closer than we think
- More successful user cases
What projects to look out for?
- Quizando — A platform that decentralises gameshows allowing anyone to be a host. They also are Malta based, and as a uni student I loved to see that they had uni students involved in the project.
- Flype — They are decentralising delivery drivers. So if you’re free and can move an object, you can get paid. They are from Sweden, and have a lot of promising news.
- Collabagate — They are helping to promote mass adoption. Look at my bio. I am all about mass adoption, and to be honest I didn’t think there was any firms who concentrated particularly on this. They have a meet-up on 20th November and I am really looking forward to it.
As it was our first summit outside of the UK, we didn’t know what to expect. We were well taken care of, and everything was organised efficiently. Malta is really accepting the blockchain space.
Hopefully, we’ll be there again next year.
