Everyone Will Think You Worked Really Hard on This 15 Minute Pasta Dish

In my opinion, this dish is as simple and delicious as it gets! It takes only as long as your noodles take to boil, but your guests will assume you slaved for hours on such a gorgeous meal! This is one of those clean out your pantry kind of meals, but ends up looking much more elegant than that rice and beans bowl you might have succumb to. So, if you have a random stop by in the next couple weeks, remember this winner of a dinner and impress your guests with little effort.

1 T Olive Oil

1/2 stick butter

3–6 garlic cloves, minced

1 can diced tomatoes

1 T Chili Flakes

5–8 Basil Leaves, julienned

Spaghetti Noodles

1 Packet Parmesan Cheese (from your last pizza delivery)

Salt/Pepper to taste

Put water on for your noodles in a medium sized saucepan, add noodles when boiling. In a separate skillet, add in your olive oil and butter, over medium heat. Let this start bubbling for about 1 minute, then add your garlic and Chili Flakes, turn heat to low. Let the garlic and chili flakes simmer in the oil/butter for 2–3 minutes. This will flavor your sauce and add a little spice! Now, go ahead and add your whole can of diced tomatoes, and bring back up to medium heat. Let this simmer away until your noodles are finished, at least 3–4 minutes. Season sauce with salt/pepper. Add in your strips of basil leaves (keep 1/4 for garnish), let simmer for 1 minute. Turn off heat, add noodles and mix! If your lucky enough to have those parmesan packets sitting around, take one of those and sprinkle over top, then garnish with remaining basil. Serve up and act like you slaved over this gorgeous dish, everyone will believe you!
