The Remarkable Science of Silence: How Solitude Enriches Creative Work
Thomas Oppong

I feel in our society solitude is seen as something to be feared, despised and misunderstood. Good words, bringing this subject to attention and the excellent quotes contained in your article. For myself I have had many years of solitude, fighting against it but now choosing it. Finding a balance is key - being able to socialise when need be. That is a happy balance, because then the world is your oyster. Not being anxious when the need for solitude for creativity and work requires it, but also not being irritated and distracted by unwanted company. Then, really enjoying time out relaxing. A glass of wine, a laugh or two. Nice.
