MD-PhD dual degree programs are seven to eight-year training programs that educate and prepare the next generation of physician scientists. The majority of MD-PhD programs are designated as Medical Scientist Training Programs (MSTPs), which are funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and provide full tuition and a stipend to their students.
