Sharing Professional Ethics

Umair is one of the most decent student in my class. I always found him well dressed just like a professional. He is always serious about studies and his career. I study a course at Amal Academy that taught me to how to align your career with your goals and how you should behave professionally in your career. It was a about half an hour discussion with him and we were going like nowhere and talking randomly about different points. I will discuss only six here.

First topic is aligning your career with your passion. Most of us have to choose the pre-defined path by our parents or older brothers. So we need to build our passion according to their choice. That was the outcome and we will let our next generation to choose the path they want.

Secondly everyone takes decisions according to his/her experience and knowledge. He has done some internship and worked with different people and he Umair told me that he was stuck in a code and he asked about this problem from almost 6 people during internship. Two of them referred other teammates. 3 have totally different ideas of solving this problem. Only one asked him that how do you want to do it. So he asked six people around him and almost everyone was perceiving and interpreting differently.

Own your decisions. It was a long talk. We did not end up on a same agenda but I get to know some more points about it. Only boss or your elders take decisions. You are just to implement that decisions. He says our culture and values are different. We have to listen everyone around us. It is hard to take a decision when you have a lot of discussion around you. So we should not blame others and also we should not involve people while making big decisions.

Internship is a very interesting part of your career. During that period you learn a lot about actual knowledge and implementation of your studies. You learn new technologies and see how the industry works and what you are up-to. What specific sub-field you should focus. It gives you insight of your future.

We are not doing Phd. Its a fact none of my classfellow wants to do Phd. They say it is our Phd to get this degree.

If you lie your job. You want to spend your life in it. The question is if you don’t like your job, then what. Or you are not so passionate about your first job. I will surely quit said Umair. He said its not about money or career. If I don’t want to work. I cannot proceed in my career. I want satisfaction. I agree with his statement.

So we should ask ourselves that is the right thing to do. Am i satisfied ? . These two questions will change your fate.
