Health: Mind, Body and Soul

Why and How to Respect what you have been Given.

Quality of Health

Quality of Relationships

(Character + Integrity)
=
Quality of Life

Health: an above average condition of the mind, body and soul

Character: when thoughts, words and actions are aligned with your core values and morals.

Integrity: one’s track record proving their character

With these, you will have taken the utmost responsibility for your life.

Our Body

The most valuable and sacred possession we are endowed with.

Your DNA, the reason you are conscious, is made up of ~3,000,000,000 base pairs, all specifically coded into 23 chromosomes. [1]

Time and effort must be exerted to show gratefulness for the gift of life you have, to care for it as you would a holy temple.

No man-made machine can match our flexibility, dexterity, artistry, charisma, and finesse.

More sacred than statues, more valuable than diamonds.

Our Mind

The brain is the genius supercomputer which operates our body.

It utilizes 50% of our genes and 20% of the total oxygen and blood in the body to function. [2]

There are ~172,000,000,000 neuron and non-neuron cells.[3]

80% of the brain is the cerebral cortex, the phenomena responsible for our dominion over planet Earth. [4]

It is the very cause of our ingenuity, intellect, relational prowess and imagination.

What message, feeling and values do people receive when they meet you?

Will you better your community with values and virtue, or hinder it’s growth with mediocrity and vices?

Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value. — Albert Einstein

Our Soul

Behind our brain is a soul, a consciousness, a personality, an individual.

The soul innately understands morality.

It has a sense of good and bad, right and wrong.

We know people ought to act fairly, honestly and with virtue.

We know people who don’t should be held accountable for their actions!

The value of justice is real.
Your soul is responsible for free will.

You can choose to cradle hatred, anger and resentment against those who’ve wronged you, or can choose to forgive them, to show compassion to them, and to pray for their healing.

You have the option to freely direct your attitude, regardless your circumstances.

You can repay evil with good and be a light in dark places.

You can unconditionally love and do good to those who wrong you.
Only the supernatural can fully justify what you’ve just witnessed.

Recognize your True Self, Separate from the World.

The more you value yourself, the more you are willing to invest time, resources and money into personal development.
Human tendency is to take for granted that which cost little to nothing, I warn you to not fall into that temptation.
The virtues of person-hood, like self-control, modesty, wisdom, truthfulness, and generosity; are being corrupted by our culture.
Nothing is so beautiful,
nothing is so continually fresh and surprising,
so full of sweet and perpetual ecstasy, as the good;
no desert is so dreary, monotonous and boring as evil.
But with fantasy it’s the other way around.
Fictional good is boring and flat,
while fictional evil is varied, intriguing, attractive and full of charm.
— Simone Weil

The World’s Subconscious Message

Media tycoons, driven by greed, use commercials, actors, pop-stars, rappers, etc, to subconsciously coerce us to willingly trash our hard-earned money for:

  1. Toxic chemicals like fast food and marijuana.
  2. Poisonous addictions like cigarettes and alcohol.
  3. Superficial validation from strangers through makeup, accessories and clothes.
  4. The objectification of women, in order to entrench us in the bottomless pit of lust.
Culture doesn’t care about the consequences of who you become.
Pornography is the new drug they’re selling.
Beware, it will shatter your relationships.

You were lied to.

Porn is not natural for men or women.

Those actors you see have sold their souls for money.

Their parents have been left desolated, watching their children become slaves of the most shallow and meaningless animal instincts.

Most actors do porn,
to get the money,
to buy the drugs,
to numb the shame of doing porn,
and then do porn again for the same drugs.

The perpetrators of pornography work hand-in-hand with human traffickers, who subject thousands of women and children every day to intense psychological trauma.

You support this each time you watch.
Talk to yourself, what are you doing that is senseless and irrational?
Any vices in your life that are simply moronic?

I ask myself this every day, and will do so the rest of my life.

Simple, not easy.

Self-motivation is the most valuable character trait.

If you are serious about change, I’ve found a simple table chart helps.

The Pain of not Changing
vs
The Pleasure of Changing

Writing as many reasons as possible will motivate you, only if you are motivated enough to write them.

1.Body — The Channel to Experience Life

Be mobile for 15–60 minutes , 2–4 times per week.

I enjoy being in a park, appreciating nature, praying, stretching and doing body-weight exercises.

Make sure it is enjoyable and fun. Try bringing a friend!

2. Mind — Nutrition In, Junk Out

A. Read 15–60 minutes, 2–4 times per week.

Wisdom is key.

If you enrich your life, you can then be a life enricher to your friends, family and community.

Some dedicate their whole lifetimes to studying a subject.
They take 1–2 years to compile their thoughts into exact ideas.
Then, they share it with you for $10.
Are your distractions a higher priority? Click here and start reading.
B. Listen to thought leaders and experts for 15–60 minutes, 2-4 times per week.

Everything you listen to programs you, make sure what goes into your mind is nutrition every child should also intake.

3. Soul — Our Greatest Need

“Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for those desires exists.
A baby feels hunger: well, there is such a thing as food.
A duckling wants to swim: well, there is such a thing as water.
Men feel sexual desire: well, there is such a thing as sex.
If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy,
the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.” — C.S. Lewis

Nature is Intelligent, so is our Soul.

If I told you those markings came from the waves hitting the beach,
you’d think I was either lying or insane.
Obviously a mind was behind it, a mind is required to relay information.

If such a simple illustration points towards a rational mind, what does DNA, the 3,000,000,000 unit-long code point to?

I don’t have enough faith to believe:
random processes
+

=
3 meter long operating instructions for self-sustainable, intelligent life. [5]
Medical surgeons spend 11–16 years in study before being allowed to operate.

Why?

Because biology is complicated, the human body is intricate and incredibly vast.

You do not go from primordial slime to conscious life.

There is more than enough evidence given from the Big Bang,
quantum mechanics of atoms,
elements of the periodic table,
conditions of the Milky Way,
position of the Earth
and infinitesimal requirements of our atmosphere to bear life,
to point towards an Intelligent Creator of the universe.

The greatest Influencer in the history of the world.

The greatest moral teacher in the history of the world was illiterate,
fostered no children,
worked as a carpenter,
and for 3 years became an itinerant preacher with little income and no home.

He was born without a father, seen as a bastard child to a couple who were perceived to be in an illegitimate relationship.

His message was heard by all, the rich and poor, the religious and the unbelieving, the joyful and the depressed.

His words scorned the religious leaders and were sweet remedies to the debauched.

Christ alone has succeeded in so raising the mind of man toward the unseen,
that it becomes insensible to the barriers of time and space.
Across a chasm of 1800 years,
Jesus Christ makes a demand which is beyond all others difficult to satisfy;
He asks for the human heart;
He will have it entirely to Himself…
…All who sincerely believe in Him,
experience that remarkable, supernatural love toward Him.
This phenomenon is unaccountable;
it is altogether beyond the scope of man’s creative powers.
Time,
the great destroyer,
is powerless to extinguish this sacred flame;
time can neither exhaust its strength nor put a limit to its range.
This is it, which strikes me most;
I have often thought of it.
This it is which proves to me quite convincingly the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
— Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of France 1804–1814
Either Jesus was a lunatic, liar or God in the flesh. There are no other options.

The True Source of Life

Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life.
Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again.
Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35)

In that time, bread was the majority of Jews’ intake.

Jesus is saying that He is literally the largest, most important part of your life.

Without Him, you will not survive.

Again, he is either a lunatic, liar or God of the universe.

The Revealer of Truth

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world.
If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness,
because you will have the light that leads to life.” (John 8:12)

Jesus says that He illuminates our reality.

He reveals what is real and what is an illusion.

He informs us what is right and what is wrong, what leads to sorrow and what brings joy.

Our spiritual hunger-pangs will be fulfilled once we follow Him.

Now you might be asking “Why do I need to follow Jesus? I’m pretty spiritual without him.”

Remember, Jesus is clearly not a lunatic or a liar; His ministry is too strong and too wise and has lasted too long to be built on foolishness.

“I tell you the truth,
those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life.
They will never be condemned for their sins,
but they have already passed from death into life.” (John 5:24)

He claims to offer us forgiveness for our sins.

He is our salvation from the just punishment of God for our wrong doings, and the gift of eternal life.

Truth Itself

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one can come to the Father except through me.
If you had really known me,
you would know who my Father is.
From now on, you do know him and have seen him!” (John 14:6–7)

Jesus Christ claims to be God revealing Himself to you as a human being!

How do you know Truth? A little lesson in Philosophy.

The Law of Non-Contradiction states:
A and non-A
cannot be true at the same time in the same way.

Therefore, because all religions blatantly contradict each other in regards to their version of “God”, the afterlife, etc.;

either they are all wrong or one of them is right.

Christianity has the only empirically verifiable and historically falsifiable claim, which the whole belief system stems from.
An empty tomb, from a well known politician of the time named Joseph of Arimathea. [6]

Jesus’ resurrection is not a legend, but a fact stated in a creed which originated within a year of the resurrection Sunday.

I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me.
Christ died for our sins, just as the [Old Testament] said.
He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.
He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve [disciples].
After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time,
most of whom are still alive,
Almost to say “Go ask them yourself.
though some have died.
Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles.
Last of all, as though I had been born at the wrong time, I also saw him. (1 Cor. 15:3–8)

A Real Fact Spread by Real People

The apostle Peter, crucified upside down in Rome.
The apostle Thomas, recorded as being speared to death in India.
The apostle Paul, beheaded in Rome.
The apostle Bartholomew, recorded as being skinned alive and beheaded.
These were real people, with real families, goals, jobs, hobbies, and selfish desires.
Why did they go through so much sacrifice and pain?
