I had similar experiences with both the author article and Erick and I think both are right. In my opinion, the source of the problem is the lack of investing on recruiting process using IT technology. I am wondering why industry invests too much on useless products that their mission is only to share cat pictures, but few invest on building software that can automatically scan professional profiles and shortlist people’s knowledge, skills and abilities. Also, I think linkedin has a huge potential to solve this problem using the crowd, but nothing special happens in that network!
