A friendly case study about Basecamp

Hi there.

Yep! You guessed it: in a way this article is about some very strange acronyms, such as (WAI-)ARIA, WCAG, ADA, a11y.

This article is also going to be about the new Basecamp 3, and also about me…

Disclaimer: I am a great admirer of Basecamp [the company], their opinions, their creations. Basecamp [the product] is already *the* go-to solution for many businesses, and I want to help it get even better by sharing with the Basecamp team things that they may not have thought about their own product!

Let’s get down to business

As a seasoned web user, I find myself interacting with…

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!

Now, if you know what you’re worth, go and…

No matter how hard you try, sometimes things don’t go as you want and you feel stuck. So what do you do then?

Maybe I am not being fair to myself, but I don’t consider myself productive. Instead I would describe myself as a person who is careful to details. (Some extraordinary people have both qualities and it requires lots of experience.) Productive people are fast doing things, whilst my kind of people tend to be slow.

Regardless, we all put some amount of energy into things that we’d like to achieve. But only some of us succeed. How come…

If you had the happiest life. Most loving partner, sweetest kids, dearest friends, most satisfactory job, etc. Still, what would be the meaning of life?

I yet have to find an answer to that. What’s yours?

Many articles have already been written and at least some of the podcasts that I listen have certainly talked about this subject. Nobody actually knows how Apple will actually do (certainly I don’t), but until the next product release term hits our calendars for the long-awaited Apple Watch, humans will have an opinion.

For some reason though, everybody seems to agree that there will definitely be a new version of Apple Watch sometime next year, and humanity as we know it will cease to exist. Since no human being has ever replaced their watch one year after another, either Apple…

Here’s an idea — that is probably not even original — about a simple strategy about how to “quit your job”.

Are you asking, “Why would I want to quit my job?” Well, because sometimes your current job sucks so badly, that you might want to bang your head so hard to the wall, everyday, all day, that you would rather not and just… Quit. (Okay, I may be exaggerating a little bit here: after all, I have a job right? Right? Sigh.)

When this is all over, there’s no guarantee whatsoever that, whatever comes next is going to be…

Since I was one year old or so, I walked the earth, same as you did; breathed the same air as anybody else. One thing that sets me apart though, is the fact that I feel incomplete. I know — deep inside — I didn’t yet accomplish anything substantial with my life.

On January 16 2015, I am going to be thirty years old and (to be honest), I don’t have nice feelings about it… Up until now, time was there, but not actually there. As long as time wasn’t there for me, I wasn’t concerned.

I am suddenly aware…
