Petra Collins

Petra Collins is a prominent Canadian artist and photographer, as well as a fashion model and directer.

Collin’s work rose to fame in the early 2010s. Her work is regular featured in ‘Rookie’ magazine, it is regularly described as feminine and imaginary, she focuses on female gaze- which is a feminist response to male gaze.

Petra actually created a website with the sole purpose to act as an online platform for young female artists in a male dominated art world.

Her work is hyper feminine, something a lot of the art world isn’t used to, yet very relatable to young women. Collin’s wants to help evolve conversations surrounding feminism and women’s issues and uses her work to raise issues.
