I couldn’t agree more. My first ever post was about why I quit “teaching” and why all teachers should. My point was that teachers have got to take on the role of lead learner and make learning what it should be, which is hard to do when pressured by a scripted curriculum void of creativity and meaning. Learning is what good teachers love, not the teaching necessarily, but the feeling that occurs when learning is happening. That feeling doesn’t come from a standardized system, in my opinion.
