Recently we were asked some questions by one of our community users.


Your service is very similar to STEEM. What makes ALIS different?


I would like to address these questions and tell you what we are planning for the long-term development of ALIS and explain what differentiates ALIS from STEEM.

  1. Our business model: Our UVP is “To help people find trustworthy articles and people quickly.” In addition, ALIS tokens are very easy to obtain and we offer only one type.
  2. Purpose: We want to make ALIS not just any social media platform, but a trustworthy one.

We would like to avoid any misunderstandings and make clear that we have a high regard for STEEM. They showed us the possibility of using Blockchain Technology in social media. Please feel free to read the following article based on the above recognition.

# Business Model Purpose

- STEEM’s UVP is “STEEM is a blockchain-based social media platform where anyone can earn rewards.” ALIS’s UVP is “To help people find trustworthy articles and people quickly.”

STEEM clearly says that “anyone can earn rewards” on their platform. For ALIS, we think rewards are a key driver to help a platform grow. We enable people “To find trustworthy articles and people quickly” by using ALIS tokens. Our UVP is distinctly different which differentiates our service.

- Our tokens are very easy to obtain and we offer only one type.

The mechanisms behind STEEM are very complicated. There are three kinds of tokens, STEEM and STEEM POWER and STEEM DOLLARS. It is hard to understand the purpose and usage of each kind. Moreover, it is hard to know how to obtain these tokens, and even if you do, you cannot withdraw STEEM SP right away. This is enough of a reason to hinder new users from joining. The engagement of users is one of the most important factors for social media success, and any type of hindrance can prevent this. Furthermore, they have recently changed the logic of their tokens, causing further confusion for their users. ALIS has only one type of token that you can withdraw at any time, making ALIS much simpler. In addition, ALIS also uses PoI logic (Proof of Importance, also known as NEM’s logic). This means that the longer you keep ALIS tokens in your wallet (not on exchange, but on ALIS’s platform), the more ALIS tokens you can get. # Platform Purpose

- We want to make ALIS not just a social media platform, but a trustworthy one.

If people recognize ALIS as a social media platform of “trustworthy articles and people”, we will disrupt all other review sites. For example, let’s take a look at a typical restaurant or travel review site. In Japan, there is a restaurant review site similar to Yelp. This is a site operated by a certain company using advertisement revenue, so the user’s review points are falsified. Traditional media wants to increase PV in order to get a higher advertisement fee, so users are forced to see unwanted advertisements. However, there is no way to earn for these review sites to earn revenue other than through advertizements. This means that social media cannot put their customers first, with a few exceptions. If ALIS can disrupt these misleading review sites, users will start interacting in various ways on ALIS and people will want to use ALIS’s currency. ALIS can then become a unique social media platform that has information on trustworthy people and value through the use of ALIS tokens as a currency. ALIS can further develop to become a C to C business platform.

We think it is also important to launch ALIS in Japan because Japan has a large cryptocurrency market (you can check it out here). However, there are few blockchain players because the barriers of market entry are very high for both Japanese and foreign companies due to laws and the language. This means Japan has an ocean of opportunities for us if our ICO is successful. We think our plan for growth is also a differentiating point. ALIS’s first course of action is developing a great service in Japan, followed by disrupting all review sites, and raising the value of ALIS tokens. This process will enable us to go global in the shortest amount of time and hopefully will make our world better.
