The writer was able to make her argument without fear of recrimination because she is a self-critical part of the group. Her analysis is both stark as well as candid. But I would have liked to have seen more empirical data supporting the conclusions she reached — especially with respect to black women wielding “more social and political power than our male counterparts” because it is something that has become an unacknowledged wedge issue in the black community. Bravo, sista.
