Singapore Changi Airport is one of the busiest ports in the world, serving approximately 50 million passengers annually. It is also one of the most beautiful and most efficiently operating airports in the world. Its construction began in the 70s and continues to this day, because new facilities, amenities and attractions are constantly being built here.
Does it, like other thoroughly modern airports, provide passengers with restaurants, shops, spa areas, playgrounds for children? Yes! So what distinguishes them from other luxury colossi? Rooftop pools? Cinemas? Entertainment centers?
Yes, that too. However, not all airports will have palm groves. Or botanical gardens with a collection of cacti, orchids or other exotic plants.
Not every airport can also boast of a huge collection of contemporary art. It is also here that a tired traveler can forget about the hardships of travel, admiring the world’s largest movable sculpture Kinetic Rain — an installation containing over 1200 parts!
