How Many Times Does Donald Trump Have To Tell Us He’s Innocent Before We Get It Through Our Thick Skulls?!
What is wrong with us treasonous liberal snowflakes? Can we not accept that Mr. Trump is the president and presidents don’t lie?
To my Medium readers as well as friends on Facebook and Twitter,
I have been writing critically of Donald Trump every day for more than year, calling him a racist, a misogynist, an insufferable windbag, a national embarrassment, an incompetent moron, and a profligate liar.
I have maligned his presidency, his crooked administration, and his ludicrous family in every way imaginable.
But last week, as the contents of the “secret memo” were finally revealed and I simultaneously heard the president declare that the Republican-drafted document “totally vindicates me,” I thought, could I have been wrong about Donald Trump all this time?
Could I have been denigrating the President of the United States based on flawed or biased reasoning?
Did that exhaustive five-page truth document and Mr. Trump’s subsequent and emphatic denial of wrongdoing throw all of my assumptions about the orange creamsicle out the window?
And why have I resisted the president’s assertions about his innocence? Is it because I live in New York City and have observed his lies, deceit, and devious practices first hand for more than three decades?
Or is it because he courted an enemy state, encouraging its army of hackers to interfere in America’s presidential election, thereby awarding him a fraudulent victory?
Is it possible, perhaps, that I did not implicitly trust this man owing to his sleazy history of violating and harassing countless women, using the power of his position to shame, ridicule, humiliate, and harm them?
And how about the daily tweets? Have I been overreacting to them? Is President Trump’s habit of tweeting insults, provocations, even the threat of nuclear war before I’ve had my breakfast in the morning actually a brilliant foreign policy strategy and not actually a threat to all mankind?
My point is, has Donald Trump been on the right side of history all along, while I, with my priggish attitudes about freedom, equality, and democracy, been wrong, wrong, wrong?
Donald Trump is a racist, a misogynist, an insufferable windbag, a national embarrassment, an incompetent moron, and a profligate liar.
And that will never change, no matter how many self-scribed, ludicrous memos he and the Republicans produce from their back pockets.
Okay, folks, sorry for the momentary distraction. Let’s get back to work now resisting everything about this phony POTUS, his despicable family, his collusive cabinet, and his blundering administration until they’ve all been chased from Washington, never to foul this fabulous republic again.
Thanks to all the many readers, fans, followers, and even my frenemies, for reading and commenting on my posts throughout the year as I continue my commitment to post every day, 7-days-a-week until the Orange Accident is no more.
Remember, I read every comment. And I try to answer.
