After recent spelling blunders, speaker wants president to take adequate time to edit, polish, and reword his annual address

After horribly misspelling “hamburgers” in a tweet on Tuesday (he wrote “hamberders”) so that no one knew what he was saying, Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked President Trump to delay his upcoming State of the Union address until he has had time to “edit, polish, and reword the annual speech” so as not to embarrass himself or the country.

“Hamberders, covfefe, so many others, we just can’t have that kind of shameful writing from the president polluting our national discourse,” said Ms. Pelosi. “The entire country, as well as most of the world, will be watching in prime time that night, and Mr. Trump can’t be ‘covfefing’ all over the place. He needs to stop, take a moment, and postpone his annual address until he can carefully copyedit what he’s written.”
