Trump Cites “Rogue Killers Loki Or Possibly Thanos” For Death Of Khashoggi

President says King Salman not responsible for journalist’s disappearance, blames instead “really bad guys, serious villains”

After speaking with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman on Monday morning, President Donald Trump advanced the theory that “rogue killers like Loki or possibly Thanos, some really bad guys,” were responsible for the mysterious death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

It is not known why the president would cite fictional characters from the Marvel Studios movie series as having links to the disappearance of the journalist, especially when strong evidence exists that Khashoggi was killed by Saudi assassins. But one Washington Post reporter who worked closely with Khashoggi has a theory.
