President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he felt betrayed by pop singer Taylor Swift’s “decision to run as a Democrat in Tennessee for the Senate seat.”

Mr. Trump added that because of her disloyalty, “I like Taylor’s music about 25 percent less now.”

But the president did not have his facts straight. In fact, the popular singer has no intention of running for office, but she did publicly endorse the Democratic candidate for Senate in her home state, Phil Bredesen.

The clarification did not stop Mr. Trump from continuing to slam the 28-year-old, saying she should “stick with singing and not try to get involved with something she knows nothing about. High-level politics is rough stuff and not for little girls.”
