Why We Can’t Let Luddites Ruin Global Trade

The first thing we need to do is replace corporate income tax with VATX so that every product sold in the USA pays the same tax, regardless of where is is manufactured. That will put American companies on equal-footing with overseas companies.

The second thing wee need to do is to manage the job supply just like we manage the money supply: American wages should be taxed or receive a tax credit as needed to balance domestic employment.

If we do those two things, then the promised job benefits of greater international trade will be realized, and we can continue to liberalize global trade while keeping America fully employed.
