Vacation Brain

I’m leaving for a short vacation to Maine on Wednesday — naturally, the next two work days are going to drag and be a mental hell.

If you know me, it’s no secret that I love the Yoga with Adriene channel on YouTube. I’ve been doing yoga with her for almost 2 years, and it has slowly taught me to respect my body (still working on that), quiet my mind (working on that as well), and push myself. I joined the membership site earlier this year, and I’m stoked that I can access great extra content like the SUN + MOON yoga + meditation series.

I used to meditate every morning, but I fell off that wagon and it’s been a struggle to get back on. But these two videos are helping. It’s easier when the meditation is part of the video, as opposed to when you have to end the video and start another app (I know, really not a big problem). But for the next two days while my mind is off in vacation-land, I’m going to do these videos, and try to calm my mind a bit. SUN in the morning, MOON in the evening. And REBOOT when I get to Maine. I seriously can’t wait to do yoga by the ocean again — something about waking up and doing yoga in nature is so calming and invigorating.

I’m hoping that once the weather cools down and fall starts to settle in, I’ll be in a better place to start jogging again. Nothing insane, no 6 mile jogs, but I know my 3 mile routes pretty well by now and sometimes I find myself yearning for an early morning jog. Currently I’m considering a one-way 3 miler from my apartment to downtown, and jumping on the bus to come back home. Might be a weekend-only thing, but we’ll see.

I never know how to end blog posts. END.
