Basically, I chose it because hormonal birth control would (or could, depending on the method) decrease the effectiveness of my mood stabilizer.

I could’ve gone with hormonal bc despite this and tailored the dose of my other medication, but I didn’t want to mess around with it.

I definitely wanted an IUD, but if I were in a vacuum, I probably would have chosen the hormonal IUD over the copper one because although my periods haven’t been significantly heavier/worse, I would love to not have one at all.
