Perhaps I should edit for clarity, but I stand by my assertion that conservative-learning people — namely Trump-supporting, conservative-leaning people — had and have much harsher criticism for Black Lives Matter protestors in Ferguson and Baltimore as well as antifa (but even more establishment Republicans make it sound like the people still outraged by Trump’s comments are making mountains out of molehills). What are Blue Lives Matter and the assertion that counter protestors incited the violence in C-ville if not dog whistles for racists? I’m not saying they’re like, “oh yeah I definitely support the KKK” or that they’re actively advocating for violence, but that doesn’t mean their language doesn’t reveal remnants of those racist sentiments. Basically, violence and property damage held equal, they’d be more likely to defend the “free speech” (as if Charlottesville was merely a matter of free speech) of white supremacists than that of Black Lives Matter. Just because they don’t wear white hoods doesn’t mean they aren’t flying Confederate flags and screaming “heritage not hate” like that’s an adequate defense of bigotry.

Also, tacit support of white supremacy = supporting or failing to condemn the drug war, police brutality, suppression of voting rights, etc. This goes for liberals and conservatives, and even though it’s a bit of an extension from my initial point, people don’t have to outrightly applaud white supremacists to support their aims.
