My Fun Day!

I participated in the Kids Read Comics! event at the Ann Arbor District Library today. It was super fun and I met some authors and artists who’s works I’ve either read or heard about. Some of those authors include Carolyn C. Nowak (artist for the new comic series Lumberjanes, issues #10–12), Kean Soo (Jellaby, March Grand Prix, and he did some small work for the Amulet series), Faith Erin Hicks (Friends with Boys, The Adventures of Superhero Girl, What Could Possibly Go Wrong, and The Nameless City), and Raina Telgemeier (Smile, Sisters, Drama, and The Baby-Sitters Club graphic novels). Also, I met Rafael Rosado, a storyboard artist for the new TV series, Transformers: Robots in Disguise, and I got him to sign the comic book of the same name! I’m a huge Transformers fan, so this was a major deal for me. I also learned how to make a much more in-depth outline for a story from author/illustrator Tory Woollcott (Mirror Mind), which was fun! Plus, two different artists were taking requests to draw things, and the results I got were fundamental! I’ll show you pictures of what I had done.

The Franklin-Stines by Joe Foo (I’m making a comic with that title, and these are his versions of my characters. I’ll share more about them later.)
One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
