What’s it like to be a trans woman?
Allison Washington

Clocked is when someone identifies you as trans, when you’d rather they didn’t. (Assumes you are presenting your proper gender and wish to pass as-cisgender.)

Facial feminisation surgery (FFS) consists in a range of procedures commonly opted-for by trans women who can afford it. I know of a case of a cis woman who herself had FFS because she was getting clocked and harassed as-trans. I don’t know if the result has helped her ‘pass as-cis’.

Cis society needs to rethink itself.
