I’ve recently discovered the work of April Arcus, and I’m really, really impressed.

A transfeminine genderqueer writer, coder, and dancer based in San Francisco, Arcus presents a turn-of-phrase and range of subject that captivates. From sharp essay to evocative prose, they bring it.

There is the tongue-in-cheek wit of True facts about The Trans Community, the ironic commentary of The Perfect Woman, the poignant heartache of the eulogy Remembering You, and the insight and challenge of An Exercise for Male-Socialized* People (an essay to which I am inspired to write a response, but we’ll see — you know how inconsistent we writers are… ;-).

And more. Treat yourself to a look at April Arcus.

I make a spare living doing this. You can support my work and get draft previews and my frequent ‘Letters Home’ for less than the cost of a coffee.
