Iran is the only nation that at once criminalizes homosexual behavior as a capital offence while sanctioning — even encouraging — sex change operations.
There are, of course, trans people in Saudi, but it is so dangerous for them that they make themselves invisible. People in Syria are probably too busy trying to stay alive to give it much thought.
