The AR glasses market is evolving rapidly, with 2024 set to usher in multi-monitor versions. However, for those looking to get a great viewing experience now, there are several notable options. This article compares the XREAL Air 2, XREAL Air 2 Pro, VITURE One XR, and Rokid Max AR Glasses, focusing on their features, pros, cons, and available accessories and bundles.

These are different from VR headsets like the Meta Quest 3 or even the upcomingVision PRO from Apple as they rely on an external device to provide power and video input. Plug them to your phone, computer, laptop, or gaming console and you will have those devices right in front of your eyes.

XREAL Air 2 AR Glasses

Great design and adjustability here. Glasses look regular enough that people might not even notice them. The audio is great and the image is clear, with some blur on the edges (it might differ depending on the user). I wish they would offer some focal adjustments like the VITURE and ROKID, you can still use the prescription lens adapter (not convenient).

Key Features:

  • Display: Up to 330" wearable display, 72g, 120Hz, 1080P.
  • Ideal For: Gaming, streaming, and working.
  • Comfort: Known for all-day comfort.

Pros:

  • Comfortable with adjustable viewing angles.
  • Brighter than the previous model.

Cons:

  • No auto-dimming (available in the PRO version)
  • Smaller viewing area and some blurring issues.

Accessories:

  • XREAL Air Adapter
(Connects to iPhone via Lightning to HDMI Adapter, Compatible with Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4Slim/5 and Xbox Series X/S)

These are great glasses, the blue in particular looks very nice and well built. The magnetic cord might pull your hair, but is a great convenience to turn it off. The video quality is very good with focal adjustments built in the glasses itself. Nose pad can be challenging to remove at first, you might need some sharp plastic tool to help you out.

Key Features:

  • Display: 120" Full HD with dimmable electrochromic film.
  • Sound: Harman sound system.
  • Design: Available in Matte Blue and Jet Black.

Pros:

  • Excellent resolution and sound.
  • Auto-dimming and bright display.
  • Focal and myopia adjustments.
  • Great build quality.

Cons:

  • Difficulty with small text and no angle adjustment.
  • Nose pad challenging to remove (first time).
  • Neckband fan noise.
  • Magnetic cable might pull your hair.

Rokid Max AR Glasses

Great resolution, futurist look (like Matrix) might be too much for you. Build quality is not as good as the other 2 (cheaper plastic materials). Blurry edges did not worked for us as we wanted to use this for working and not only to watch videos or gaming.

Key Features:

  • Display: 360'’ Micro-OLED virtual theater, 50° FOV.
  • Compatibility: Works with iPhone 15, Android, consoles, and computers.

Pros:

  • High brightness and resolution.
  • Lightweight with great video experience.

Cons:

  • Futuristic design may not appeal to all.
  • Blurry edges.

Accessories:

Each of these AR glasses offers unique features and experiences. The XREAL Air 2 series stands out for comfort and adjustability, the VITURE One XR for its resolution and sound, and the Rokid Max for its high-resolution display and lightweight design. Depending on your priorities — whether it’s gaming, streaming, or working.

We picked the VITURE (blue)as our winner because of its balance between design, adjustments, experience. Which one will you pick?
